Precautions & Warnings :

If you have an allergy (hypersensitivity) to metoprolol tartrate or any of its ingredients, avoid taking it. In the event that you are nursing a baby or intend to become pregnant, please speak with your doctor before taking metoprolol tartrate. Children shouldn’t be given it. Metoprolol tartrate should not be stopped without first consulting your doctor. Gradually stopping metoprolol tartrate may result in blood pressure and cardiac rhythm abnormalities, as well as chest pain or a heart attack. In order to help you avoid these side effects, your doctor will gradually reduce your dosage over time.

If you have diabetes mellitus, liver cirrhosis, myasthenia gravis, psoriasis, a slow heartbeat, or a blood vessel disease, let your doctor know before starting metoprolol tartrate. Metoprolol Tartrate may interact with other blood pressure medications (acebutolol, atenolol, bisoprolol, carteolol, esmolol, metoprolol, nadolol, nebivolol or sotalol), medicines for treating depression (isocarboxazid, linezolid, phenelzine, rasagiline, selegiline, tranylcypromine), an ergot medicine (dihydroergotamine, ergonovine, ergotamine, methylergonovine), high blood pressure medications such as hydralazine, clonidine or prazosin; stomach ulcers medication such as cimetidine; epilepsy medication such as barbiturates; malaria medication such as mefloquine.

Individuals with diabetes, liver or kidney disease, heart rhythm issues, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) should not take metoprolol tartrate.

Overdose :

If someone has overdosed and is experiencing severe symptoms, such as unconsciousness or difficulty breathing, call 911. If not, immediately contact a poison control center.

Missed Dose : 

Try to take it at the same day every day. Do not double the dose if missed.

Storage :

Store at room temperature away from light and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medications away from children and pets.
