Lercanidipine is used to lower high blood pressure. It is an antihypertensive and a calcium channel blocker. It’s applied to the management of hypertension. One benefit of using this medication may be a drop in blood pressure, which lowers the risk of heart attack, stroke, heart failure, and kidney failure.

Lerka Information :

Uses :

Lercanidipine is a calcium channel blocker. By releasing the pressure from the blood vessels and relaxing them, it lowers blood pressure and facilitates the heart’s ability to pump more blood throughout the body. Thus, it brings hypertensive patients’ blood pressure back to normal.

Take this medication by mouth usually in the morning at least 15 minutes before breakfast. Take a whole tablet and swallow it with some water. To reap the greatest benefits from this medication, take it on a regular basis. Unless your doctor instructs you otherwise, always use it at the same time every day. Up to two weeks may pass before this medication starts to fully benefit the patient. Your doctor may prescribe a different dosage for specific medical conditions. Your age, gender, health, how you respond to treatment, and whether you take any interacting medications will all affect the dosage.

Precautions & Warnings :

Take Lercanidipine with caution if you have recently experienced a heart attack, angina, chest pain, or other cardiac issues, or if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. Patients with diabetes, hypotension (low blood pressure), liver or kidney disease, or both should use Lercanidipine with caution. It is important for you to periodically check your blood pressure in order to ensure that Lercanidipine is functioning properly. Unless directed by a physician, do not take Lercanidipine if you are nursing a baby, intend to become pregnant, or are already pregnant.

Since the safety and effectiveness of Lercanidipine in children under the age of 18 have not been established, it is not advised for use in children. Because Lercanidipine makes you drowsy and dizzy, you shouldn’t drive until you are awake. Avoid alcoholic beverages as they may lower blood pressure and increase dizziness when combined with Lercanidipine. When taking Lercanidipine, avoid consuming grapefruit or grapefruit juice as this may exacerbate side effects.
